I saw this scooter yesterday and it reminded me of one that was stolen from me.

It was recovered on King Edward near the market and apparently the person was painting it when they were picked up.

I wonder if the person were left to their devices if it would have come out like this one?

Well either way, my scooter was totaled. Didn’t matter because the police kept it for so long that by the time they told me it was returned, they presented me with a storage bill that was pretty well what I paid for the scooter (despite the fact that I called every day to see if it had been recovered since I was actually depending on it when it was stolen).

In effect, the damage of the bill from the police storage was about the same as the damage done by the thief.

In the end, they let the person go without charging them. I objected but the police said they are a known character and didn’t have any money (like a homeless sorta deal).

They never would reveal the identity of the thief to me for damage recovery.

Great job Ottawa Police. You protected the thief and yourself but not me.
