DiY Spirograph

I was thinking about Spirographs from childhood and I decided to make one.

I bring you: “SquigglyGraph”!

This is 1/8th” extruded acrylic. The drawing holes are 3/64″ radius and the gears were made with the gear program. I used Google Sketchup and Inkscape to do the rest of the CAD work and cut it out on a Zing 24″ laser from Epilogue.

Those markers are the Staedtler roller ball ones. I think they’re acrylic ink. They work perfectly with the 3/64″ hole radius. They stick out about 1/8″ from the plastic handle plus they come in lots of nice colors.

I can’t seem to put this thing down.
